The Allegheny West Provisional Annual Conference serves all of Ohio and the Western third of Pennsylvania. As a Conference of the Global Methodist Church, their purpose is to connect clergy and laypeople in our region for shared ministry and accountability. They are here to share knowledge and assist local churches, and to equip ministries and support the planting of new churches.
Who are we?
A church committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly. The Global Methodist Church is filled with warm-hearted, Jesus loving, and Holy Spirit inspired people. They are grounded in Scripture and the life-giving confessions of the Christian faith found in the Apostles’ and the Nicene Creeds.

Our CORE beliefs?
That the one God – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – has created all things; that Jesus Christ, through the power of his cross and Resurrection, is the Lord and Savior of all the world; and that the Holy Spirit empowers the people of his church to worship and praise God and to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world in word and deed. This includes unity around the authority of Scripture, the classical confessions of the Christian faith as articulated in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds, and in the historic Christian ethical standards that derive from them.

To join God in a journey of bringing new life, reconciliation, and the presence of Christ to all people, and to helping each person reflect the character of Christ.

Women in Ministry
The Global Methodist Church celebrates and praises God for the gifts women bring to all levels of the church. There are no barriers to where they can serve in the church. Women are joyfully received as members in local churches where they serve as trustees, lay leaders, Sunday school teachers, and many other critical roles. Women are also joyfully ordained as elders and deacons, and consecrated as bishops. The Global Methodist Church believes Scripture and Christian tradition bear witness to the importance of women and men sharing the responsibility and joy of serving the church as its leaders.

By virtue of its very name the Global Methodist Church is a diverse church where all God’s people – whatever their color, culture, ethnicity, or nationality – are warmly welcomed to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly. It is a body that recognizes and deploys the gifts and contributions of each part of the church, working as partners in the Gospel with equal voice and leadership. The Global Methodist Church’s witness to the world is marked by mutual love, concern, sharing, and a focus on those who are most vulnerable. Its members watch over one another in love and bear witness to the transforming power of the Gospel as we humbly, but boldly, strive to serve others as ambassadors of Christ!
